Hot, dry and sunny - that's the forecast for the East for the next couple of days.

Forecasters say parts of our region could reach 22 degrees, with other parts of the UK potentially reaching a record-breaking 24.

We asked Senior Meteorologist, Alex Deakin, whether we could expect to see temperatures hotter here than the south of France or Ibiza?

"When the UK finally gets a bit of warmth, we're always warmer than somewhere or somewhere else.

"But actually these warmer conditions are coming up from the south, so other parts of Spain and Portugal will probably be a little warmer than us.

"But we can probably gloat about some parts of the Mediterranean, we'll be higher than them."

He added that while temperatures are higher than usual, we need to take extra care: "Just be aware of how the strong the sun can be.

"Even if it's cloudy, UV levels can penetrate that.

"People haven't been out for a long time so your skin's not used to it, and it is higher than usual for this time of year, we've got lots of sunshine."

The warm weather isn't set to stay though, with temperatures likely to drop again in time for Easter weekend.
