More sandbags are on the way for a community in Norfolk that was ravaged by floods caused by Storm Babet.

Breckland Council has said it will be delivering extra sandbags for households in Attleborough to help protect against the impact of Storm Ciaran.

It follows a heated emergency meeting on Monday night where locals voiced their frustrations after suffering the worst flooding for decades.

A number of people highlighted they had struggled to get sandbags before the water breached their homes during the recent Storm Babet and have since had continued problems as they made efforts to protect their properties.

Breckland Council has also said it has officers on site investigating culverts following concerns they remained blocked and could cause further flooding.

Members of its building control team are also meeting with The Hill Group, which is responsible for the Gables development on Norwich Road.

It comes amid increasing speculation that the housing scheme may have contributed to the flooding as it is being built on land known to be a flood plain.
