Freshers week is in full swing at the University of East Anglia and fully in person for the first time since 2019.

But those coming on site, must continue to test twice a week, wear a face-covering in crowded places and also try and stay one-metre apart where they can, according to the University.

Students at UEA told us that its "great to be back" and people being back on campus makes it feel like "a proper University experience again".

Many students also told us they "very happy" to see the UEA are continuing to take Covid-19 seriously.

In addition to asking that all students test themselves twice a week if coming onto campus, the University have also opened a vaccination centre and are giving out lateral flow tests for free.

Students were however divided over whether the potential future introduction of Vaccine Passports would be a good thing.

While many said it was necessary to get everybody vaccinated and to absolutely avoid another lockdown.

Others argued it was wrong "force people" into doing something that ultimately is a personal choice. While also pointing out that many have not been fully vaccinated yet, due to serious medical reasons.

The University of East Anglia say there are currently no plans for any form of 'Vaccine certification' to be introduced during this academic term or year.
