The wedding industry is booming like never before in Norfolk and Suffolk, according to a local wedding planners.

Caroline Gould the owner of, 'The Wedding planners' in Snape told us that, "since we were given that green light for weddings in July, we haven't stopped. Its booming with all of those postponements, with new clients and with enquiries for future. We're almost fully booked for next year and we're getting enquiries for 2023"

"We're getting to the point where there is almost too much work. Typically we would do about one or two weddings a month, during a average year. But now we're doing one or two weddings a week to catch up with the backlog".

In spite of the uncertainty surrounding winter, she's confident that they won't be universally cancelled again like last year:

"There has been very little support for the last 18 months. What we're seeing now is that couples are ready to get married again and want to get married. Even if there were a few restrictions, I don't that would stop weddings happening at all".

"Yes people are more cautious and there's more hand sanitiser on tables than ever before. But, everyone understands that they have a responsibility and everyone wants to be there with the couple to celebrate".

"History tells us that winter is more challenging. However, the age of the majority of our clients tend to late twenties and earlier thirties. The vast majority of them are double-vaccinated and so are their guests. So, we're in a much stronger position now than we were at this time last year".
