A woman's been rescued by a coastguard helicopter after finding herself cut off by the tide at Holkham beach.

Wells and Cley Search and Rescue Team posted to say they were called out at about 7.30pm on Wednesday 28th April.

Norfolk Police, the East of England Ambulance Service, Wells RNLI, and Hunstanton Coastguard were also on the scene.

After spotting the casualty and sending the information to Wells Lifeboat, it was established that due to the state of the tide and the fading light, boat crews would not be able to reach her.

A helicopter was called out and airlifted her to the teams on the ground in Wells.

She was checked over by paramedics but no medical assistance was required.

All teams were stood down.
