A school in Wymondham has made a Christmas single to raise money for Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

It was all started by Elliott Catchpole, a science teacher at Wymondham High Academy, whose son's been receiving care for a rare genetic disorder.

He's previously raised thousands for the hospital and got all of Wymondham High Academy involved in the project.

He says he couldn't have done all this without the help of the Academy's Principle, Jonathan Rockey:

"He said the school community is a really big one and we can use the fundraising might of the school to really help you with all this. So, we're looking to do several projects in the next few years where the funds will go to that charity, which is just fantastic".

Mr Catchpole went on to say that he'd like the funds raised to make the lives of staff and patients a little easier:

"It would be to go towards anything from equipment that helps treat patients, to toys for the children's hospital. It all depends on the amount raised but wherever it goes its useful and it helps".

He also hopes this will be the start of closer relationship between the school and the charity:

"It wasn't just about raising money, hopefully we can also have assemblies whereby charity representatives are coming into the school, so the pupils can see first-hand where the money raised is going and how it can be used".

He concluded saying the students were at the heart of all this:

"The music department were great and said yeah let's do this. They got a lot of pupils in on it from everything from the instrumentation down to the art-work. The mixing of the song as well has also exclusively been done by the pupils".
