Funeral of British Superbike Racer to take place in Gateshead

Chrissy Rouse died after a race at Donnington Park earlier this month

The family and friends of British Superbike racer Chrissy Rouse will be gathering at Gateshead's Emmanuel College tomorrow to celebrate his life.

Chrissy, who was 26, died earlier this month following a race at Donnington Park.

He was also a teacher at Emmanuel college - where his funeral will take place.

Chrissy went to school in Gateshead at Emmanuel College where he’d later go on to mentor and teach.

They paid tribute to him after his death;

"We are very deeply saddened by the death of former student, staff member and friend, Chrissy Rouse.

"Someone who exemplified the spirit of Emmanuel College.

"A person of excellence who lived with humility and demonstrated remarkable love for others"

The funeral will take place at Emmanuel College in Gateshead, with mourners asked to wear a "splash of pink".
