Durham County Cricket Club has been fined £18 000 with another £94 000 in costs for the collapse of flooring in the stands at the Riverside Ground in Chester-Le-Street.

It happened during a T20 match against the West Indies on the 16th of September, 2017.

Three spectators were injured, including one woman who was seriously injured when a deck board collapsed like a trap door - dropping her 20 feet to the ground.

The club said that the stand had been inspected twice in the days before the incident and that Twenty-Two boards had been replaced because they were in a state of decay.

The club pleaded guilty to failing to discharge a duty under the Nineteen Seventy-Four Health and Safety Act.
