Plymouth diver Tom Daley has done exactly that after winning the men's synchronised 10m platform with partner Matty Lee at Tokyo 2020.
The 27-year-old picked up bronze medals in London and Rio but, until Monday (26th July) had never come higher than that.
Tom, who loves to knit and do crochet, has now made a special knitted pouch to keep his new gold medal in.
And in a nod to Team GB it even has a Union Jack on the front.
