Students in Plymouth are petitioning to get a graduation in person.

Due to the pandemic, it has been rescheduled many times, but now they've been told that it will be a virtual event instead.

Those fighting for the change say they 'should be entitled to attend with friends and family to celebrate their hard work and achievements'.

The petition has attracted over 3,000 signatures so far.

According to the page, there is the offer of a 'celebratory' event in September - but apparently that is not 100% guaranteed.

The organiser of the petition say it 'makes no sense':

"Why can't we have our graduation instead of a celebratory event within guidelines of the government restrictions?

"Instead we received a certificate in the post and not even a professional graduation photo.

"Whilst it is understandable with the current situation surely we deserve an actual graduation after a year of strikes and Covid-19 once the restrictions are lifted."
