Melton man charged with offences including rape and actual bodily harm

UPDATE: No pleas were entered at Leicester Magistrates Court by the defendant at today's hearing (Friday, December 23). Lee Smith will provisionally appear in court on Monday, February 6 and has been remanded back into custody.

A Melton man has been charged with a number of offences following an incident in Blakeney Crescent on Monday 19th December.

Lee Smith - who's 42 - has been charged with six counts of rape, three counts of actual bodily harm and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, alongside six other offences.

He's been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Leicester Magistrates' court today.
