Zoe Nealson's not been impressed with the scenes across the county since Saturday

Oakham's Mayor has condemned those responsible for 'causing chaos' across Rutland in the past few days.

It's following a number of disturbances locally, which has been linked to a religious festival taking place at Rutland Showground.

Zoe Nealson's also the Chair of Oakham Town Council.

She's disappointed with what's gone off since the weekend:

"I've seen that the event organisers have invited the people of Rutland in to come and see the event for themselves.

"However, I'd encourage everyone at the event to work with the Police to identify the criminals within their own community who're responsible for this anti-social behaviour.

"I think there's been a clear lesson on how easily things can get out of hand, and how much impact one event can have on a whole community.

"It shows the need for clear and transparent communication and planning between organisations.

"Oakham will not accept this type of behaviour, and we encourage anyone who's witnessed any of this anti-social behaviour to contact the Police."

Rutland County Council say the event-which began on Saturday-will finish tomorrow-and the site will be vacated on Friday.
