IT consultants in Rutland say the pandemic has vastly changed the way many local businesses operate, with an online presence vital in many cases.

The last 12 months have seen a huge increase in commercial internet usage

For some it's completely changed the way they operate.

There's been a huge increase in virtual meetings, online marketing and internet sales.

Alistair Bell from Uppingham web design company Inc House says there are real opportunities.

He says for many who've got a presence online there's been a significant boost to sales.

He also believes for those who have more a traditional high street operation there's still a huge benefit to getting online even now restrictions have eased.

Many have seen plenty of web based sales whilst still being open in a physical shop.

Alistair says although the pandemic has hit some firms hard, thinking about the future and using online methods may help in the long run as they have to face up to a changing commercial landscape.
