We met the man who created a gift for the Queen on behalf of Rutland
The former household employee has written a poem on behalf of the country.
A Rutland man has sent a gift to the Queen on behalf of the county.
Henry Dawe, from Uppingham, previously worked at the royal household.
He has written a poem celebrating her majesty's reign ahead of the platinum jubilee bank holiday this week.
Mr Dawe said: "Its absolutely remarkable to think that this platinum jubilee, which has been been so long in the planning, is around the corner with the four day bank holiday.
It will be wonderful to see so many people coming together."
After a tough few years of covid, Mr Dawe said that it will be lovely to see the country come together a celebrate.
Mr Dawe has had to have permission to send the poem and hopes the Queen will enjoy hearing it soon.
He said: "The Queen will be able to shown the video which accompanies the printed poem on a USB stick... and I hope that the Queen enjoys the video and it will be something that she has forever."
