A303 reopens following fatal crash near Amesbury

A pedestrian was struck by a lorry in the early hours

A 24 year old man has died after being struck by a lorry on the A303 near Stonehenge.

Police have confirmed they were called to a collision on the A303 this morning (28/01) at approximately 2.20am involving a HGV and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 24-year-old man, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury and was pronounced dead this morning.

His next of kin have been informed.

A303 ROAD CLOSURE NOW LIFTED

The A303 has now been reopened some 16 hours after the crash.

Collision investigation has now been completed by Wiltshire Police.

POLICE WITNESS APPEAL

Any witnesses to the incident or anyone who was on the A303 around the same time are asked to call Police on 101 and quote log 13 of today’s date (28/01).
