A338 four night closure at Downton
Disruption for motorists as key route shuts for roadworks

From 7pm this evening (Friday 5 March) the main A338 is being closed between Downton and Charlton All Saints.
The closure comes into force at 7pm tonight until 6am tomorrow (Saturday 6 March).
It'll be closed for three more nights on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week (8th, 9th, 10th March).
The route will be open over the weekend and close again on Monday evening.
It's so Wiltshire Council can do some resurfacing works.
A338 SECTION CLOSED
The part of the road that is closed is from the junction with Batten Road at the Downton Industrial Estate to Warrens Lane at Charlton All Saints.
It's going to cause significant disruption as the A338 road is a major arterial route between Salisbury and Ringwood and brings with it a potentially lengthy diversion.
DIVERSION ROUTE
Southbound it's along the A338 to Ringwood, along the A31 to Wimbourne then along the A350 to Blandford then the A354 to Salisbury.
Northbound is vice versa.
