The A345 through Pewsey will be partially shut for 10 days due to carriageway resurfacing works.

The stretch of road in the village will be closed from 7am until 6pm on weekdays from today (Monday 9th August) until 6pm on Friday 20th.

This weekend, 14th and 15th, the roadworks will stop and the A345 will reopen as usual.

People in surrounding villages like Burbage are being told to expect increased traffic in the area.

An official diversion route has been put in place which tells people to take the A338 north through Collingbourne Ducis or the A342 west towards Everleigh.

The route provided by Wiltshire Council has to use A roads, so people with local knowledge may be able to use a quicker diversion.

The local authority say that access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
