'Glorious Gliders' needed for West Hampshire museum display

Could you help the Army Flying Museum to celebrate a special anniversary?

Middle Wallop's Army Flying Museum is looking for our support to help them mark 80 years of the Glider Pilot Regiment.

The regiment was formed back in 1942 and the attraction is set to celebrate the anniversary next month.

They're hoping to display 800 mini crocheted or knitted gliders as an art installation within the Museum.

They're now asking local people to help them with the project by making their own versions of the aircraft.

The Army Flying Museum's Outreach team has put together a pattern for crafters to follow, which can be downloaded from their website.

The 'Glorious Gliders' can be any size or colour, in fact the Museum say 'the brighter, the better'.

We have until 20th February to submit our own glider creations to be included in the display.

They can be dropped in to the Army Flying Museum directly.

Any gliders can also be posted to Dan Ball, Outreach Manager at the Museum, on Stockbridge Road, Middle Wallop, SO20 8FB.
