Police are appealing for information after several reports in recent weeks of cats being targeted in the Amesbury area.

Several animals in the Maple Way area of the town have been attacked, at night, with their fur being shaved or sticky taped.

The tape, which has been red and white, has been wrapped around them, usually their necks.

AWFUL ATTACKS ON CATS

Police say these acts are not only harmful to the animals, but also very distressing to their owners.

They are urging whoever is doing it, to please stop.

Anyone with any information that could lead to the offender being identified is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54200086078.
