An off-road running race from Salisbury to Winchester is going ahead today (Sunday 4th October) after making a number of changes to it's usual format.

The Clarendon Marathon have made sure that it is Covid safe by doing lots of things differently, including:

  • Limited number of entries to 1000
  • Rolling starts
  • No massages after the race
  • No children's race
  • No spectators at the finish
  • No medals

An instruction video has been made to help competitors:

People have been able to sign up for the full marathon, half marathon, mini 5 mile marathon or a 4 person relay race.

It takes runners between the Cathedral cities along the Clarendon Way following country tracks and paths, although the usual route has been slightly changed this year.

The event is run by Sarum and Winchester Rotary Clubs, with the money raised going to a number of charities and not-for-profit organisations.

Good luck to all the runners taking on the challenge!
