The 15th annual Clarendon Way Walk in aid of children's hospice Naomi House & Jacksplace will take place on the 12th September.

The challenge will see walkers follow an ancient route from Winchester to Salisbury raising much needed funds for the charity

The classic 26 mile route begins at Winchester Cathedral while the popular 12 mile route will begin in the village of Broughton.

Both routes finish at Salisbury Cathedral.

FANCY STEPPING IT UP A BIT?!

This year for those who want a bit more of a challenge there's the Ultimate Clarendon -a 52 mile walk through day an night!

This starts on Saturday 11th September with walkers setting off at dusk from Salisbury Cathedral and treking through the night to reach Winchester the following morning before heading back again.

VITAL FUNDS

Last Summer, Naomi House & Jacksplace successfully delivered a Covid-safe Clarendon Way Walk.

This was one of the UK's first major fundraising events since the Coronavirus pandemic hit and raised a staggering £87,000.

Covid-safety measures put in place included the professional electrostatic sanitisation of busy elements of the walk, including toilets and rest stops, as well as incorporating a staggered start. A move likely to be in place again this year.

All staff, volunteers and marshals were provided with full Personal Protection Equipment. Route marshals were once again kindly provided by The Army Training Regiment.

Charlotte Patrick, Events Fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said:

"We were thrilled that we were able to produce a safe and secure event in 2020, it was wonderful for our supporters to be able to show their support by taking part in the event. The Clarendon Way Walk continues to grow in popularity, this year our supporters will be able to embrace the new distances and experience the night walk. It's a challenging but enjoyable walk, and a great way to get fit and explore some of Hampshire and Wiltshire's most beautiful countryside. We hope the 'Classic Clarendon' and 'Ultimate Clarendon' combined, will raise £150,000, enough to fund approximately 125 nights of care so desperately needed by local children, young people and their families"
