A resident pooch at Salisbury's Dogs Trust rehoming centre has been looking for a new home for almost a year.

The race is on to try and find a forever family for Mollie, a Collie Jack Russell crossbreed before the 1st anniversary on February 11th. |newtab)

She's officially classed as an 'underdog' by the Newton Tony centre, as 4 year 8 month old Mollie's been there so long.

We're told she likes to sniff and explore, and adores treats like dental sticks.

She also enjoys playing with toys and will happily engage in a game of tug.

She is looking for a calm and quiet forever home, with an owner who is understanding and patient, plus has a structed routine, as she is a nervous girl.

Mollie will need time and reassurance to relax and learn new commands in her new home.

Claire Rowe, Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Salisbury, said:

“Mollie is a lovely dog who is looking for a loving owner, who she can slowly get to know while settling into her forever home.

“She is a sensitive soul, who is working hard on her training, and is well loved by the staff here.

“Mollie is a beautiful girl, and we hope that someone will take a chance on this underdog!”

Mollie loves her walks, but she prefers her own company, so will need access to nice, quiet walking areas where she can be more relaxed and away from other dogs.

Mollie finds car travel quite stressful so local walks would be ideal for her.

She does have a high chase drive so her new owner must be happy to keep her on lead and wearing her muzzle for her walks.

Mollie would prefer a single adult household; however she could potentially live with a couple as long as both people are equally involved in her care.
