Over 200 fines handed out in 9 months for driving offences at Salisbury Plain Training Area

More than 200 Fixed Penalty Notices were handed out at Salisbury Plain Training Area between April 1st and December 31st last year.
The Ministry of Defence Police and Wiltshire Rural Crime Team aim to "detect, prevent and deal" with a range of criminality taking place in the area.
In this time they seized 29 vehicles and issued 206 Fixed Penalty Notices for driving offences, including illegal off-road driving, no MOT and no insurance.
They have also brought successful prosecutions for drink and drug drivers, poachers and fly tippers.
Meanwhile, they say they are also targeting crimes like hare coursing.
The Ministry of Defence Police are asking anyone to report suspicious or illegal activity they see or know about on Salisbury Plain.
