A group of firefighters from Fordingbridge are going to running/walking 54 miles around the New Forest in full protective kit, for charity.

The "New Forest Challenge" will see Colin Reeves, Paul Dorrington, Pete White and Matt O'Hare, as well as Ross in the support vehicle, visit all 11 fire stations in the area.

They get underway today (Saturday 24th October) and will be wearing full kit including a 16kg breathing apparatus.

It was originally due to go ahead in April, but was rescheduled because of the pandemic.

They're raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity, who help those who work for fire services across the country in a difficult time.

£10,000 is their fundraising target.

The challenge sees them start in Totton, before heading to to Lyndhurst, Hythe, Hardley, Beaulieu and finishing at Brockenhurst for day one.

Day two will take them to Lymington, New Milton, Burley, Ringwood and finishing in their home town.
