Fordingbridge Book of Condolence to The Queen
New Forest District Council pay respects to HM Queen Elizabeth II

Arrangements have been announced by New Forest District Council for the local Proclamation of King Charles III as the nation's new monarch, as well as a Book of Condolence, and floral tributes to out late Queen.
Charles III was proclaimed King on Saturday (10 September 2022) at a ceremony at St James's Palace in London. A public proclamation will be read at Winchester’s Great Hall at 1pm today, Sunday 11 September.
After these principal and county announcements of the accession of HM The King, The Chairman of New Forest District Council will give the Proclamation at Appletree Court, Lyndhurst on Sunday 11 September 2022, at 2.00pm. Members of the public are invited to attend.
Deputy Lieutenant Hallam Mills Esq DL will invite Cllr Alan O’Sullivan, Chairman of New Forest District Council, to read the Proclamation.
The Chairman will close with “God Save The King”, the Civic Party will respond with “God Save The King”. Following that, remaining guests may also respond “God Save The King”.
This weekend the offices at Appletree Court are being opened 11am to 3pm for the Book of Condolence.
Fordingbridge Book Of Condolence
At Fordingbridge Town Hall there is also a Book of Condolence available to sign, from Monday to Friday 10am to 12noon, and 5pm to 7pm. Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 2pm.
At Appletree Court, floral tributes may be laid at the flagpole. The grounds are open every day from 8am until 6pm (7pm Wednesdays). There are also locally organised sites for lay floral tributes in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
In line with national protocol, the Union Flag at NFDC offices have returned to full mast to mark the accession of King Charles III and the reading of the Principal Proclamation.
It will return to half-mast at 3pm on Sunday 11 September and remain lowered until the day following the State Funeral.
