Hampshire Police are to carry out property marketing in the Fordingbridge area in bid to help crackdown on burglaries.

It follows a number of break ins at garages, sheds and vehicles with tools often taken.

Next Saturday (3rd December) officers will have a special piece of kit to help mark tools.

The Dot Peen Machine works by permanently engraving a unique code into tools to make them easily identified and registering them on the website Immobolise.

In a post of Facebook Ringwood officers who involved in Operation Hard Home said:

"Having your tools marked by this machine will make the easily identifiable in the case that they are stolen and recovered, as we often recover tools when searching vehicles, houses, etc. but aren't able to identify and return these tools to the rightful owner so. This is a FREE and invaluable service to help you to protect your property."

"We recognise that non-dwelling burglaries have always been a local priority to the community, and we believe it's important that we work with residents to help you take steps to protect your property."

How to get involved:

You'll need to send an email with your name & address, and the amount/type of tools you would like marked to New.Forest.West.Police@hampshire.pnn.police.uk a member of the team will then in touch.

Officers will come to your door between 8am and 5pm on 3rd December.
