Charges scrapped in Salisbury car park... for now!

The cost of parking is a hot topic in the city

Families and residents heading to Churchill Gardens in Salisbury will no longer have to pay.

The ticket machine at the Southampton Road site has been removed.

The facility is operated by Salisbury City Council rather than Wiltshire Council.

The car park is currently 'free' at Churchill Gardens in Salisbury

A spokesperson for the local authority told Greatest Hits Radio:

"As things stand, the carpark is currently free, we don’t know if this is likely to change in the future. Our Parks Officers do monitor/keep an eye on its use."

The car park is particularly popular on Saturdays when the city's parkrun takes place.
