Two men are in police custody after three e-bikes were stolen from a property in Winsley, near Bradford-on-Avon.

The three bikes, worth over £20K, were reported stolen on Thursday. Offenders used bolt cutters to cut the lock. They then loaded the bikes into the back of a van and drove off.

Officers were able to trace the offender’s vehicle, which had been earlier reported stolen, to Foxhill in Bath.

A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of class A drugs and a 39-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of class B drugs.

Detective Inspector Tom Ellerby said: “We are relentless in our determination to bring such offenders to justice and we are pleased to have been able to return the stolen bikes to their rightful owner within two hours of the crime being reported to us - the result of coordinated work both with the victim of this crime and the specialist skills of a range of departments within Wiltshire Police.”
