We might have had to wait a little longer than planned, but the grounds of Longleat becomes a 'Land of Light' from today (Thursday 3rd December).

It's a new event for this year, replacing the Festival of Light lanterns - and will run through until 10th January 2021.

Longleat's now able to open it to the public, as Wiltshire's in Tier 2 restrictions and the event is outside.

A new video's been released showing us what we can expect:

WHAT IS THE LAND OF LIGHT?

The attraction includes seven 'zones' of magical light installations, including a projection onto the famous Longleat house.

It's being described as a 'spellbinding sensory walk of discovery', specially created for the site.

The Longhouse will also become a 360° infinity experience too - complete with lasers and sounds.

There's also a brand new activity there, Santa Storytelling, giving little ones a chance to hear a festive tale from the big man himself!

The Land of Light will include projections onto Longleat House

The Santa Train is back, but social distancing means places are even more limited than normal.

Longleat's 20 foot singing and illuminated Christmas Tree is also in place in the Stable Yard.

There are a few Covid secure measures in place to protect visitors, including asking everyone to wear face coverings throughout, regardless of it being outside.

WHERE TO GET TICKETS

They're available through the Longleat website.

If you're an Annual Pass holder, you'll still need to reserve entry to monitor numbers.
