Man arrested after high-speed pursuit on A36 near Salisbury

At around 11:30pm a vehicle failed to stop for police on the A36 near Salisbury after being seen driving at excess speed.

Officers then went on pursuit of the car, chasing it to Stapleford.

The vehicle then took a corner at speed and left the road.

The male driver of the car then tried to escape on foot, but was caught by police after another short pursuit.

The high speed pursuit ended in Stapleford

A 26 year old man from Torquay was detained and arrested at the scene.

He has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs, failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and the theft of a motor vehicle.

The vehicle was seized and the man taken to Melksham Police Station.
