Man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after pursuit around Tidworth

Police saw a vehicle which caused them some concern

Following a short pursuit last night (Wednesday 1st December) a man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and possession of drugs in Tidworth.

Officers on patrol spotted a grey Mercedes with the manner of driving causing them concern on the A3026 in Ludgershall.

A chase then took place, with the car coming to a stop on Silbury Hill Avenue in Tidworth.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of a number offences:

  • Driving when above the alcohol limit
  • Driving a motor vehicle dangerously
  • Failure to stop
  • Possession of class A drugs
  • Possession of class B drugs
  • Possession of a bladed article in a public place

He was taken to Melksham Police Station.
