Man subjected to 'barrage of abuse' before punches thrown

Imagine being at the end of a good night out and then being racially abused by a group of complete strangers.

Well, Salisbury Police are looking for your help following a racially aggravated assault which happened in the city centre last month.

It happened on Friday 13 June 2021 at around 1.00am and Officers have been pursuing every avenue to track these people down. Now they're asking for your help.

RACIAL ABUSE

A man was approached by a group of men on New Canal, near Chick-o-land, and was subjected to a barrage of abuse.

When a bystander tried to intervene, he was punched in the face a number of times leaving him with two black eyes and a painful jaw.

PC Megan Peroni from the Salisbury Response Team said:

“As well as the physical injuries caused by this attack, I’m shocked by its unprovoked nature and a horrific racial slur that was used.

“We’ve worked tirelessly to try and find the people responsible and we’re asking the public for their to help to bring these people to justice Whilst I’m aware that it happened some time ago, even the smallest piece of information could help us find whoever did this.
