45 military personnal have been provided much needed support to Salisbury District Hospital

January was the toughest month of the pandemic so far with 90 deaths and at the peak more than 180 patients who had tested positive for Covid-19.

They undertook a variety of roles including both clinical and general support duties at the Odstock site

A spokesperson for the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust told Greatest Hits Radio..

"For example they supported on a number of wards and depts as needed, performing duties from general admin and drinks rounds through to those equivalent of a Healthcare Assistant. They also helped the maternity COVID-19 lateral flow testing team, enabling partners to be quickly tested for COVID-19 so that they are able to attend 12-week and 20-week scan appointments with expectant mums."
