New Forest bosses bring drones down to Earth
Forestry England's reminding pilots of the rules

Bosses at Forestry England, who look after the New Forest, are reminded drone pilots of the rules.
Written permission to take-off or land from any FE land is required in advance, they say, with existing rules not specifically mentioning drones, but including aircraft.
Their website says, "Like many other organisations we believe that uncontrolled recreational use of drones at our sites is incompatible with the vast majority of our visitorsꞌ expectations for peaceful and quiet enjoyment of the forest and their personal privacy."
They add, "Many drones have cameras attached and these could infringe data protection laws (filming people without permission) and potentially could breach the Forestry Commission’s rules on commercial photography and filming."
