No Great Western Railway trains through Wiltshire TODAY

Another day of strike action's going ahead

We won't be able to take a Great Western Railway train through Wiltshire today (Saturday 13th August), due to ongoing industrial action.

This time, drivers who are members of the ASLEF union, are walking out in a row over pay.

Passengers are advised to find alternative ways to travel, and only attempt travel if absolutely necessary.

GWR say the majority of train services will not operate and there will be no services at all on many routes, with no replacement buses running either.

Today's action does not affect South Western Railway services.

Customers who have already purchased tickets for strike days can claim a full refund or amend their ticket; those who travel and are delayed may be entitled to delay repay compensation if they are delayed by 15 minutes or more.

Season ticket holders can apply for compensation through the Delay Repay scheme.

Those who do travel as also reminded of the weather forecast and to be prepared by wearing cool clothes, taking handheld fans and ensuring they have plenty of water to drink.

Further action next week

More strike days are scheduled to take place on Thursday 18th and Saturday 20th August too, which will have an even bigger impact on services.

RMT union members will be taking industrial action in a row over pay and conditions.

That will affect both SWR and GWR services across Wiltshire.
