A Gunner based in Larkhill has taken one step closer to Olympic glory as she reached the semi finals on the Women's featherweight boxing.

Karriss Artingstall took on Australian Skye Nicholson this morning (Wednesday 28th July) and proved victorious, winning by split decision.

Karriss serves with 1st Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery, here in Wiltshire.

Gnr Artingstall will take to the ring again on Saturday (31st July) as she faces the Japanese fighter Sena Irie at 11:24am BST.

Win and Karriss would make it to an Olympic final with a chance to win gold, but a loss would mean a guaranteed Bronze medal.

Good luck Karriss!
