Second Peregrine chick hatches at Salisbury Cathedral

Two down, two to go!

A second Peregrine chick has been spotted this morning (Wednesday 25th April) at Salisbury Cathedral.

It started to break through its shell at around 8.00pm yesterday evening, before being spotted feeding for the first time at around 6.00am today.

There's two more eggs in the nesting box, with hopes they'll hatch in the coming days

On Tuesday, the first of four eggs hatched.

It is expected that the two remaining eggs will hatch in the next day or so.

Last year, four chicks hatched and were named after the Queen's pet dogs in honour of the Platinum Jubilee.

Cathedral officials are discussing a name theme for this year.
