Salisbury Cathedral is holding a special Thanksgiving service this weekend for Queen Elizabeth II.

Local dignitaries will be invited to attend the event on Sunday (18th September) at 4:30pm.

It will celebrate the life of Her Majesty, remembering what she achieved across her 70 years of service.

Members of the public are also welcome to pay their respects.

There will also be a prayer for King Charles III, our new monarch.

The Cathedral will be remaining open for people to pray and reflect at their own time, outside of services.

So far, more than 2000 people have signed the Book of Condolence there, with more expected in the coming days.

The Cathedral will return to normal services and visiting hours on Tuesday 20th September.
