Thousands of pounds have been raised to support people affected by the Ukraine conflict - through some musical events at Salisbury Cathedral this summer.

Two performances were held by the Swing Unlimited band in the grounds of the Cathedral, with those watching giving in donations.

A total of £2,953.12 has been collected, and donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee's Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

The Cathedral's been sharing details of what that money will go towards on their Instagram feed:

It can provide either:

Emergency food for 59 families for one month

Blankets for 236 families

Essential hygiene supplies for 236 people for one month

Salisbury Cathedral say said 'deepest thanks' to people who donated during what they've described as 'joyous musical events'.
