Salisbury's Mayor has chosen the Christmas card that he'll be sending out this year - following a city-wide contest to find a design.

The competition was open to young artists up to the age of 13, with the winning entry picked out by Cllr Atiqul Hoque.

7 year old Martha designed the card that'll now be sent out, with the name 'Rainbow Christmas'.

Martha's design 'Rainbow Christmas' will be sent out by Salisbury's Mayor

Cllr Hoque said:

“Well done to everyone who took part in my Christmas card competition. It was hard choosing a winner as there were many fantastic entries. We are lucky to have so many talented young people in Salisbury.

"Congratulations to Martha for being this year's winner - her entry stood out because of her creative use of colour and imagination.”

The Christmas cards have now been printed ready to be sent out on the Mayor's behalf across Salisbury and Wiltshire, but also internationally.

Copies will go to places like our twin cities of Saintes in France and Xanten in Germany, as well as sister cities in Maryland, USA.
