The restaurant chain has named 29 restaurants that it will shut for good as part of a major restructuring.

Pizza Hut Salisbury is on that closure list.

The move is expected to see the loss of about 450 jobs.

SALISBURY BRANCH CLOSING

Salisbury's Pizza Hut is one of 29 branches shutting down for good

The eatery, on Salisbury's Blue Boar Row overlooking the Market Square, has been shut since lockdown and will now go leaving another empty shop in the city centre.

Pizza Hut says it's working with creditors to save as many jobs as possible at its remaining 215 sites.

Those branches employ about 5,000 staff.

In April 2018 planning permission was approved for 'Revolution' to open a bar on Blue Boar Row, in the space where Pizza Hut is.

But that plan never came to anything, and now it looks like the unit will become vacant.

Salisbury Pizza Hut is next door to the city's Debenhams, which had already confirmed that it was not re-opening after lockdown had eased.
