Wiltshire man jailed for fraud
His actions left firm on brink of collapse
A Wiltshire man has been jailed after pleading guilty to fraud by abuse of position.
Bruce Sui Cox of Church Road, Idmiston was sentenced to three years and four months in prison after an investigation by Thames Valley Police.
Cox was working as a financial director for Kokomo, a health and beauty company based in Abingdon in Oxfordshire which makes themed toiletries under licence including Peppa Pig bubble bath.
The 62 year old committed fraud worth in the region of ÂŁ628,000.
The offence took place between July 2018 and August 2019 and his actions left the firm on the brink of collapse.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Carly Milward, of the Major Crime Unit, said:
“The fraudulent actions committed by Cox have caused a significant and profound impact on the company and all of the staff involved.
“The business was close to liquidation and the financial impact is still felt by the business and will do for some time.
“Cox held a position of trust which he took advantage of and he neglected the financial interests of the company.
“I hope the sentence gives some justice for all of the staff affected by his poor judgement.”
