The car park opposite the recreation ground off the A338 slip road is currently closed as it's being used to house a mobile Covid-19 unit.

Some NHS staff on the site have been verbally abused by people attempting to use the recycling banks in the car park.

David Hurd, car park manager at NFDC said,

"The whole site is closed in order to allow the safe operation of a testing site. We understand the temporary inconvenience but ask that residents use another site, or their kerbside home collection black box for glass recycling, if they cannot wait until Thursday. "

"This mobile testing site, which is operational for a few days in the month, is particularly important so our residents in more rural areas, who may not have ready access to public transport, are able to quickly and safely access testing without the need to travel great distances."

Some residents have become frustrated at not being able to access recycling in the car park.

The car park is closed until Thursday ( March 4th ) and will be shut again on the 16th, 17th and 18th of March.

Alternative parking is available at Fordingbridge Town Centre Car Park.
