The Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust say the Covid-19 pandemic means they're not able to accept any gifts this year.

They normally receive many items to be shared amongst staff and patients at the District Hospital over Christmas.

Instead, we're being asked to support the Stars Appeal with donations to their Christmas campaign.

The money raised through the special appeal will go towards making sure every patient staying at Salisbury District Hospital during the festive season is given a gift.

It'll also help to bring some extra festive cheer to staff working at that time, during what's been a tough year for them.

The Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has said:

"We're very grateful and appreciate our community's outpouring of support, but we have had to make some changes to the way we do Christmas this year to keep both patients, their families and our staff safe.

"This has impacted our ability to accept gifts directly for both adult and child patients and staff."
