Stonehenge one of top British destinations to visit

Salisbury's Stonehenge has been named on of the top 10 British Destinations to visit this summer.
Staycations are on the rise, meaning we are all looking for somewhere to visit that little closer to home.
A guide of places to visit by car have been put together, factoring in the average temperature and rainfall of different regions.
Windsor Castle, Blenheim Palace and the Tower of London were ranked Britain's best Heritage attractions, ranking highly for their overall rating and low rainfall.
That's according to the average monthly weather, rainfall, visitor rating scores and the number of Google searches.
No attractions in northern England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland made the top 10, despite their destinations being renowned for their rich history and culture.
Car maintenance brand Prestone crunched the data to compare all UK castles, palaces and National Heritage sites.
They gathered data on hundreds of attractions around the UK, attributing points to each destination based on a range of factors, including:
- Weather temperature
- Rainfall
- Customer star rating (from Trip Advisor, Google and Facebook reviews averaged.)
- Google search volume
From there, they gave each castle, palace, park or heritage site a score out of 100.
