Man arrested after serious crash in Amesbury

Suspected drink driver held after another motorist is seriously injured

A man's been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a two car collision in Amesbury.

Police were called to the smash in Countess Road at around 11.30pm last night (1 Oct 2021).

It involved a black Audi and a black BMW.

The driver of the Audi, a man in his 20s, suffered suspected serious pelvic injuries and was taken to hospital.

SUSPECTED DRINK DRIVER DETAINED

The driver of the BMW, a 35-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and is currently in custody at Melksham Police Station.

The road was closed to allow collision investigation enquiries to be carried out and was reopened at around 8am on Saturday morning (2 Oct 2021).
