Two people have been arrested in connection with a number of burglaries that have taken place across South Wiltshire and the A36 corridor around Warminster.

Teams from Wiltshire Police and Dorset Police have been working together to investigate the non dwelling burglaries.

After a joint investigation, a 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were arrested yesterday (Tuesday 12th July) in our neighbouring county.

They were taken to police custody for interviews.

Detective Sergeant Darren Penny, from the Op Fortitude team, who have been working with Dorset Police, said:

"This is a fantastic example of cross-border policing, with our officers working closely with their counterparts at Dorset Police to link these offences together and identify suspects.

"We know that burglary, whether it is people’s homes, outbuildings, businesses or garages being broken into, has a huge impact on the victims and we want people to know that it is something we take seriously and are working incredibly hard to track down offenders.

"We now have two people in custody thanks to some great collaborative work."

Sergeant Lee Turner, of Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team, said:

"We are committed to working with our colleagues in neighbouring forces to take robust action against those suspected of being responsible for offences across county borders.

"Through sharing information and taking proactive action, we were able to effect these arrests and progress the investigations."
