COVID-19: Two more deaths at Salisbury District Hospital

Salisbury District Hospital have confirmed that two patients have passed away there, having tested positive for Covid-19.
This means the total number of fatalities is at 237 since the pandemic began.
A spokesperson for Salisbury District Hospital said:
“Sadly, we can confirm that a further two patients who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died today, Monday 31st January. One patient was in his 80s and the other patient was in his 60s. Both had underlying health conditions. 237 patients in total have now passed away.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.
Whilst COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital are gradually going down, sadly we still continue to experience COVID-19 related deaths. There are currently 30 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.
We would ask the public to remain cautious and to take appropriate precautions to avoid transmission, such as mask wearing in crowded places and good hand hygiene. In addition, people should take up the invitation for a COVID-19 vaccine when offered. It is never too late to get a first vaccine.”
