Wiltshire Council want to remind people in the county of the support available for them during the pandemic.

The local authority say they are working hard alongside hundreds of community volunteer groups to provide help where it's needed.

The Wiltshire Wellbeing Hub offers online and telephone support for people 6 days a week.

Anyone can use that service which can help people get a network around them and signpost them where to get additional support.

You can phone them on 0300 003 4576 or email wellbeinghub@wiltshire.gov.uk.

Wiltshire Council are also in the process of setting up transport links for people who need to get to Covid-19 vaccine appointments.

WINTER GRANTS

In December, Wiltshire Council was awarded £1,107,932.98 as part of the government's Covid Winter Support Grant scheme.

They are working with partner agencies to allocate the money to those who need it.

Grants can go to people for food payments, support for rough sleepers, Wiltshire Council tenants and care leavers, fuel poverty support and older and vulnerable people.

COMMUNITY GROUPS

Meanwhile, more than 300 community groups in the county are doing their bit for other people during the pandemic.

These include Amesbury Corona Community Hub, Age UK Wiltshire and Wessex Community Action in Salisbury.

Wiltshire Council have put together an online directory with all the details for each group, which you can find by clicking here.

Cllr Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said:

"The ongoing COVID-19 situation can be very challenging and difficult, particularly for people without a network of support around them, but we’ll continue to help every step of the way.

It’s an unsettling time but there is plenty of support available for anyone who needs it, from helping to find your local community group to resolving issues with delivery of medications from pharmacies.

We don’t want anyone to suffer in silence, and hope that anyone who does need support reaches out to either their local community groups, organisations, or our wellbeing hub."
