Emergency gas works on Wilton Road in Salisbury is expected to be completed on Friday this week (12/4).

Four-way traffic lights have been in place since works began on 5th April at the junctions of Longland and Highbury Avenue and have been causing tailbacks through the city.

The lights have been manually controlled between 7am and 7pm each day, allowing engineers to work safely and minimise disruption.

SGN say the teams are working extra hours to complete the work as quickly as possible.

Dan Brown, spokesperson for gas company SGN said: " All going well, we hope to complete our repairs, restore the road surface and reopen the road as normal on Friday 12 April.

"We’d like to thank Salisbury residents, motorists and businesses for your continued patience and understanding."
